Students Win Sweepstakes Trophy

The Music Department at U.B. Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts recently earned top honors at the Atlanta Worldstrides Heritage Festival, an adjudicated event where ensembles are ranked and rated. The Concert Band, Kinsey Singers, Burgundy Orchestra, and Gold Orchestra all received the highest possible rating: Gold Rating. The Burgundy Orchestra placed second place, the Gold Orchestra took first place in their category, and the music department earned the overall Sweepstakes Trophy.

This marks the orchestra program’s 22nd year attending the festival, with band and chorus now participating as well. The school has performed in major cities across the country and is typically the only elementary music program represented.

U.B. Kinsey offers students opportunities in Band, Chorus, Communications, Dance, Theater, and Visual Arts, helping them build creativity, leadership, and essential life skills.
